BioPharmGuy Tidbits

Here at BioPharmGuy.com I am trying to offer a useful resource to any job seeker who is tired of searching by more popular and less-fruitful methods. I do a few things that are hard to notice on frequent trips to my site

One thing I do is periodically I will click every single link on my site to make sure it still works. If it doesn't, I find out why not. The explanations are usually relating to a merger / acquisition or just the company updating their webpage and changing the url slightly. Other times they actually forget to pay their webhost or renew their url and the site becomes defunct. If you're using BioPharmGuy and you see a webpage that does not look like a biotech company's site, just google around and see what happened to them. Usually google news will let you know if it was acquired or merged.

As any good webmaster does, I keep tabs on my traffic. What I like to do is to watch which pages on BioPharmGuy are most popular over a certain period of time and to reorder the categories on the main page accordingly. For example, this month California didn't get so many hits, so now it is below the Carolinas even though it has far more companies.

I try to note on the main page when I update the site or when I add an article, so watch for any bold or italicized writing.
