What is BioPharmGuy all about?

This site is intended to help people find jobs in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. That's about it.

When I was looking for a job back in the Winter of '06-'07, I made a habit of visiting career sites of pharmaceutical companies who manufactured biologics. I would say I visited every company on my list once a week. That was over 400 companies.

But why did I visit all these sites? Why not simplify the search and just go to Monster, Hotjobs and Medzilla?

Well, I tried that for years, and basically, any job on those sites is going to get about a thousand applicants. Do you like your odds in that situation? I don't.

So what I did was I relied on increasing my chances. This meant applying for jobs that most people couldn't find. That's why I visited company sites directly. Every time a new job was posted I recognized this fact and knew I was going to be one of the first people to apply for the position. Keep in mind, companies don't always care to find the best candidate. . . they often just want a good candidate.

Not only that, I would say more than half of the companies on BioPharmGuy.com do NOT post their open positions anywhere else on the web.
